Beautiful 2006

December 31st, 2006 by nette81

How fast time flies. Just in a blink of an eye and we are gonna be celebrating the great year end to 2006 and welcoming year 2007 with hopes that 2007 will be a happier more meaningful year for us. So now it’s time to wrap up the year 2006 n to welcome 2007 in exactly 24 hours!

What have we achieved in 2006? Some of us got a new job, some changed new cars, new home, got married, brought new life to the world, did things they never tot they would actually have the chance to do and so on. What’s yours?

Mine, i din really have a resolution to work towards to this year tho many of my friends reminded me that it’s TIME TO TAKE MY DRIVER’S LICENCE, yea… besides that which i’ve still not done, i guess i can say that this year i travelled a lil more than usual.

This year, I gained lotsa FIRST TIME experiences - I learned how to snorkle in Langkawi with the great help from my dearie, I went on a Star Cruise holiday which was quite a last minute plan but it was a fantastic experience, i saw beautiful fishes and learned that the underworld life is so colorful, I achieved my 5 years Long Service Award with Demo Power and got myself a DKNY watch. I helped a very good fren b4-during-after her wedding, Emcee-ed for her Wedding Dinner for the 1st time (din do very well, but thank goodness there was ES to help out!), became Ji-mui for the bride for the 1st time, had make-up artist to do professional make up for me for the 1st time and had my hair styled up very nicely for the 1st time. Thanks for these 1st times’ PS.

I’ve also learned to be more patient, less demanding and a lil more understanding this year towards my family, my frens and my dearie. I’ve realised that I’ve grown up a lil more this year and learned to let go many things that does not really matter in life just so that i won’t be so stressed over it. I’ve also learned to enjoy what i have and to enjoy the company of my lovely friends :)

Here are some pics:

Dental Visit

August 16th, 2006 by nette81

It’s not that scary afterall.

My tooth has been giving me painful days and nites since Sunday nite. It hurts so bad that i decided to visit the dentist. My colleague recommended me to a specialist but the schdule was full. So i asked my mom and she asked me to go to the one she went to b4. It’s in SS2 (same row as Poh Kong), it’s call T.K.Yap Dental Surgery and it’s quite reasonable too.

So, i made my appointment for Wednesday, 16 Aug06 at 3.30pm. My dad accompanied me to the dentist and we were there at 3pm. Waited for a while and it was my turn. Actually i had lil butterflies in my tummy but as i entered the room, Dr. Yap greeted me with the friendlies smile and all butterflies were gone. He’s young and very friendly. He checked on my teeth and told me what my problem was and also the solution. So, he handled it all so ever gently and carefully that the whole process of serious scaling and tooth extracting was hardly painful and it only cost me RM130. It’s the best dentist visit ever in my life. Now, i dun hate going to the dentist anymore.

If anyone of you need to go visit the dentist, i highly recommend you to try out T.K.Yap Dental Surgery in SS2. I’ll be back there for my next visit in 3 months for follow up scaling. I’m not scared anymore….and U shouldn’t be too :)

No, i’m not getting paid for helping the nice dentist advertise but coming from a person who hates going to the dentist, this is for real.

Farewell, lil’ cousin

July 2nd, 2006 by nette81

Once again, the family will have to part with yet another dear cousin who’d be flying off to Spore then to the States and God knows when he’ll be back with us in M’sia again. The last time he left, he was only 16 years old. Came back to KL 5 years later….stayed for 1.5 years and now he leaves again. His departure the first time was easier to accept as we all knew where he was going and that he’d be taken care of. Now, it was hard to accept because since he came back, I’ve been quite attached to my cousin and there’s just so much we shared in this short time.

Apart from being FFK-ed last Friday, tonite i had dinner with my cousins to bid farewell to Ryan. We met in KLCC and he decided to have Nando’s for dinner. So, we ordered and we had a good time. Later on, we went out to the KLCC fountain, Isetan Entrance and snap some photos just for rememberance. Because it was aredy dark and with very minimal lightings, the fountain at the background din turn out nice..but the humans can still be seen :)

After we left KLCC, Alex & I dropped him at Tmn Tun to meet up with his fren. After bout 1.5hrs, we picked him up and sent him back to Grandma’s place. It was a difficult good-bye. Just held my tears, hugged him and said good-bye. The moment i closed the car door, the tears just came rolling down.

I hope i dun have to wait another 5 years to see him. Would just love to be able to see him every year. If you are reading this Ryan, be assured that we are waiting for you to be back…
C U SOON :)

Grandma’s 86th Bday

July 1st, 2006 by nette81

Last weekend (24 June06), we celebrated my Grandma’s 86th Bday at my place. It was just the family members and it was tiring BUT happy :)

There were so much to prepare for the party. On Friday nite, i slumbered over at MP’s place and we slept at 6am. Woke up at 9am to have breakie and drop Jules at the LRT for her to go to work. So, i only got back home on Saturday morning, 10.30am. My mom then asked me to make a poster/banner for my grandma and so spontaneously i had to think of something simple yet nice to see. So here was what i came up with with the help from my brother’s gf Mei *I’m so ever grateful*

Grandmabday_poster_viola

Then, after finishing that at bout 3pm, we had to collect the yam cake, buy the bday cake, collect the satay, buy the beers, buy the ice, but the cordial and collect the yam-in-the-basket. All was done in time for the party to begin at 7pm! After I took my bath, viola! my relatives arrived one family after another. As "stoned" as i was with no rest and only 3 hours of sleep the nite before, i still managed to stand and entertained the guest! That nite, I only slept at 1.30am! It was a very LONG nite and i had KNOCK-OUT immediately!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANDMA!

Clubbing to Football

July 1st, 2006 by nette81

Well, a nite of clubbing in Rum Jungle to celebrate my cousin Ryan farewell turned out to be a disappointment when my brother called to confirm if the party was canceled. I called my cousin Michelle, who was having a farewell dinner for Ryan at her place with the family, if the date was still on. And, since i was not at Rum Jungle yet at that momet, tho it was like 10 mins away, she/they over there, decided to not come to KL. So, that was the end of Clubbing for the nite.

Since we were ALREADY in KL, we (WH, Junkie & I) decided to head over to Alexis at GE Mall. But a phone call came from Alex frens and we detoured to Beach Club. Sigh….. another disappointment and wrong choice because the so-called live band SUX big time and the crowd was….*speechless* So anyway, we stayed on since we already paid the cover charge and had our 1 glass of drink. Big screen for World Cup - Germany vs Argentina - was on and yea, ppl were watching and dancing and well, having a good time. All except ME! Surrounding us were ladies skimpily dressed to attract the "kwai-los" or any other guy who were interested. It wasn’t an interesting sight.

Left the place bout 12.30am and went to TTDI mamak to:
1 - watch football
2 - have supper
It was pretty ok. Waiting for another goal from either one team was interesting. There were mainly Germany fans sitting at the mamak and when it was Penalty time, you can see the crowd cheering when their favourite team scored and more cheering when the other team din score. And when Germany put in the last goal, it was like "YAY!!!! YES!!!!! WOOOO HOOOO!!!" and all the clapping and cheering was heard from all the 3 mamaks at that area! The next thing you know, everyone is happy, they pay the bill and they leave with a satisfied heart and stomach! The wonders of football!!

Kids!

May 9th, 2006 by nette81

I had lunch with one of my suppliers today and we chatted bout lotsa stuff. Then the subject bout his 17 months old daughter came to topic and he was saying it’s so hard to teach his kid as she is a very tough baby (as in not the cry-baby kid).

It’s easy for someone like me with no kids to say teach her slowly…yada yada yada.. but thinking of it later, it’s not easy to actually carry out the duty to be a good parent. You give the child too much, the child will be a spoiled-brat with no sense of good manners and respect for anyone. You give the child too little, the child will turn out to be…well, i’m sure you guys get the idea. So, how is it that a child can be well taught in life?

Some parents do not dare to lay a finger on the child, in fear of hurting the child by accidentally hitting the child too hard. Some cannot bare to see the child cry, in fear that others will think they abused the child. Some treat the child like they are the king/queen of the house. I really dunno what is going on in the minds of these category of parents when they planned to have the child.

Sometimes i wonder, one day when i become a parent, how will i be one? Teaching my child the Lord’s way perhaps? *not easy but can be done* Or using the same ways my own mother brought me up? *it was all formy own good*…. i really wonder….

Work? Study? Get a car?

April 6th, 2006 by nette81

Been some time since I last blogged in here. So much has happened, some good and some bad, but mostly good :)

Accompanied my cousin to PJ College of Art & Design (PJCAD) opposite PJ Hilton, for his workshop while Junkie tagged along with me last weekend. While my dear cousin was there, i took the opportunity to have b’fast and hang out at Giant, Wisma Thrifty. Not that there was anything there, but Olympia was just upstairs. So, decided to just go in and look see at what they have to offer. Sat down with a Counsellor and inquired on part time Admin courses. She gave me a full course brochure which actually takes 10 months to finish.. mind you, it was a part time course! There was subjects like Economics, Accounting 1 & 2, Moral Studies, and a whole lot more!! I’m so not ready for that!! So i requested for something more for Admin. Ahhh… she then brought out a 1 year Dip and Adv. Dip . part time course from UK. That was more interesting. The whole course is RM7000. Exam papers are from UK and that’s the expensive part. Until today I’m still contemplating if I should take up this course. I dun have to take Adv. Dip at the same time. I can do Diploma first then decide again from there.

Then, there’s something in me that wants to get a new car for my Dad. His loyal Datsun 120Y has served him well but is giving some trouble every now and then. Went to Perodua in Glenmarie to get some info price on a MyVi and a Kelisa. MyVi is very spacious and comfortable, especially for my Dad who is pretty much on the bigger side. The Kelisa, is very economical and afofrdable,  BUT small and kinda tight on the inside. Probably will take my parents to test drive after Easter. Meanwhile, MyVi or Kelisa????Myvi_exterior_2        Kelisa_front_2

Besides that, the time I spend in the office is more than i spend at home or outside. Therefore, work is so far so good. Appraisal went really well and hopefully there is increament and bonus this year. With the increament, hopefully I can afford to do BOTH - study part time and get a car for my family.

Life is sometimes a B*TCH!If only it was easier… :)
